WHO WE ARE
Model UN at Payton is entirely student-led. Our goal for the club is to foster an environment where all participants can grow and learn to be more diplomatic, collaborative, and empathetic members of society.
Each year we attend a variety of single and multi-day conferences as a team. Our ambition is not to win awards by neglecting the ideas of others; we believe that true progress is created when we partner with our peers and work towards achieving sustainable, reliable solutions to the largest problems facing our world.
For the 2024-2025 school year, our Executive Board is:
Head Chairs: Rhea Makkuni & Liam Zolner
Conference Chairs: Sanaa Taqvi, Leah Galibois, & Alexa Gola
Training Chairs: Piper Mowbray & Judah Cooper
Communications Chairs: Kieran Blake & Edna Aman
Model UN is a simulation of the real United Nations, where the largest conflicts are solved with solutions for the prevention of future disputes.
The United Nations was created after World War II in order to stop the formation of a future international war.
Since its formation in 1945, the United Nations has worked to maintain international peace and security, develop amiable relations among countries, promote social progress and human rights, and create better standards of living.
Hosting 193 member states, the United Nations is the largest intergovernmental organization in the entire world!
